ABOUT US
Global Brigades (GB) is the world’s largest student-led global health and sustainable development organization. As a secular, 501c3 nonprofit organization, we empower student volunteers and professionals nation-wide to provide communities in developing countries with sustainable solutions that improve quality of life while respecting local culture and improving the environment.
Global Brigades provides the opportunity to volunteer overseas in a variety of public health and development programs to relieve poverty. This multi-disciplinary approach offers our communities a holistic model for strategic development.
Currently, we have two main volunteer opportunities: The first, our medical missions or public health programs in Honduras, that consist of performing medical aid , dental relief , and creating clean water systems . Our second, the community development programs in Panama, that consist of microenterprise support , human rights advocacy , sustainable architecture and environmental preservation . Each volunteer opportunity can be added or operated independently, but it is easier logistically and more impactful in our communities when the programs align to implement together.
